Goddard, Paul (23rd June 1945-29th April 2014)

He was a bass player and arranger born in Rome, Georgia, who started out arranging for Mylon Fevre & Broken Heart in the late 1960s/early 1970s.  He became a member of the Atlanta Rhythm Section in 1970 , staying with them until the early 1980s and appearing on 10 or more of their albums and several hit singles

At the same time in he 1970s he appeared on three of Al Kooper’s albums and in 1980 played bass for Kerry Livgren.  As an arranger he could later be heard in 1996 working with Panyard Rhapsody.

In 2011 he returned to ARS after a 28 year absence and performed with them for another two years.  He died in April 2014 suffering from cancer when he was 68 years old.
