Goff, Scott

He is a flautist born in Panama City and after living in various military accommodations while his father was in the U.S. army, his family settled in Tacoma, Washington.

He began studying and playing the flute when he was twelve, studying with various principal flautists of the Seattle Symphony Orchestra .  He later studied at Juilliard School before embarking on his career as a flautist with orchestras such as the Atlanta Symphony and the Seattle Symphony Orchestra , who he has been principal flautist for since 1969.  He has made many recordings as a member of orchestras and as a soloist.

He retired in 2011 after 42 seasons with the Seattle Symphony Orchestra as Principal Flute.
