Composer, concertmaster, conductor, contractor, and violinist born in Pennsylvania who founded The Nashville String Machine in 1981. He says they’ve appeared on over 26,000 recorded songs.
They have appeared on Emmylou Harris’s 1990 release, Brand New Dance, and Michael McDonald’s Blue Obsession, on which Gorodetzky served as concertmaster. It was not the first time he had served in such capacity, having filled that role on 1994’s Suzy Bogguss & Chet Atkins, and 1998’s Gershwin On Monarch tribute album. He is also credited as the Strings Conductor on The Truly Great Hits of Vern Gosdin.
When he’s not at the helm, he is a much sought-after session musician, having played violin on albums by Joan Baez, Garth Brooks, Art Garfunkel , Crystal Gayle, Faith Hill, Barbara Mandrell, Reba McEntire, LeAnn Rimes, Train, Don Williams, Trisha Yearwood, and Neil Young. He also contributed his talents to The String Quartet Tribute To Enya – Dreams, and String Quartet Tribute To Clapton.
He appears on the video Amy Grant: Building The House Of Love, served as Music Contractor for the film Hoodwinked, and one of his compositions, “Un-Limited”, appears on the anime soundtrack The Best of Lost Universe.
