Haefliger, Andreas (1962-Present)

He is a pianist born in Germany, but raised in Switzerland to a musical family, who was awarded the Gina Bachauer Memorial Scholarship twice while studying at the Juilliard School of Music, giving his New York debut in 1988 and his London debut in 1993.

He has appeared with many different international orchestras including the Seattle Symphony Orchestra, the BBC Scottish Symphony, The Los Angeles Philharmonic and the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic, and has been toured with the Takacs String Quartet.

His recordings include works by Mozart, Schubert and Schumann and he is currently in the third year of his Perspectives of Beethoven series where he is covering the complete works of Beethoven and the related compositions.

Aside from his soloist performances he often accompanies his wife, Marina Piccinini who is a flautist, and together they gave the world premiere of a concerto by Michael Colgrass.
