Harris, Ray

He is an organist teacher who studied for his Bachelor and Masters degrees in music education at the Mississippi State University followed by gaining his doctorate in Musical Arts at Louisiana State University.

He has appeared as a member of Tim Zimmerman & The King’s Brass and has also been heard in a number of recitals including a trumpet and organ recital with Professor Michael Huff of Mississippi State University and premieres by the composer Larry Nickel.

As a teacher he has been Academic Division Head for the Division of Fine Arts at Northeast Mississippi Community College where he has also been a faculty advisor for the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Scoeity.

He is a member of the American Guild of Organists and the Mississippi Music Teachers Association and has been the organist at First Presbyterian Church in Tupelo since 1994, where he recorded a CD of organ music.

He is the co-director and pianist here in a performance of “Let Everything That Hath Breath” by the Northeastern Mississippi Community College Chorus..
