Huntsberry, Howard (5th March 1952-Present)

He is a singer and actor born Howard Stafford Huntsberry in Pacoima, California, who was active in the music industry from the late 1970s.

Concentrating on R&B he backed groups such as The Gap Band in the late 1970s and took on the position of lead singer with the group Klique, which he held from 1981 to 1985.  His sister, Deborah Hunter, was also in the group and their hits included the 1985 “A Woman, A Lover, A Friend”.

He ventured out as a solo singer and subsequently released the albums With Love and Portrait of a Singer.  Other albums he has featured on include The Gap Band, The Gap Band II and The Gap Band III, Love Music & Life by D.J. Rogers and T.U.M.E. and the soundtracks to La Bamba, Jailbord Rock and Ghostbusters 2.

As an actor he took on the role of the singer Jackie Wilson in the 1987 movie La Bamba after having been heard covering his “Stop Doggin’ Me Around” with Klique.
