He is a violinist born in Nanning, China who graduated from the National Music Academy of Ukraine with a Bachelors and Masters degree in Music Performance and received an SMU Meadows School of Art Performance Diploma in 2014.
He has performed as a member of the Academic Symphony Orchestra of the National Philharmonic of Ukraine. Mai was also a 2011 member of the YouTube Symphony Orchestra. In the later 2010s he has performed with Dallas Opera and formed the Cezanne Quartet.
In 2010 he performed Telemann’s Concerto for 4 Violins in a charity concert with members of the Academic Symphony Orchestra of the National Philharmonic of Ukraine at the Ukrainian Children’s Cancer Centre.
