Klein, Danny (23rd May 1946 – Present)

He is a bassist who was born in New York City and lived in New Jersey from the ages of 6 to 17 years old.

He attended Worcester Polytechnic Institute to study chemical engineering and met J. Geils and Richard Salwitz.  They formed the J.Geils Trio in which he played the washboard bass.  The J. Geils Band was officially formed and they released their first album in 1970 which was recorded in three days.  The group saw their biggest success in 1981 with the release of the Freeze Frame album.

The band went into semi-retirement in 1984 and he went to Culinary School in Cambridge, Massachusetts.  He then worked as a chef in New England for the next 10 years or so.

He went back to music and played for Debbie Davis who was with the band Blind Pig.  He also appeared on the album Buddy Guy and Junior Wells Play the Blues in 1972.  He formed the band Stone Crazy with Babe Pino which has a CD  that features J.Geils and Seth Justman.

He went on to form Danny Klein’s Full House which performs the J. Geils Band songs.
