Masters, Rachel

She is a harpist born in England who trained at the Junior Guildhall and the Royal College of Music.  Following graduation she went on to become a harpist with several ensembles and orchestras and has worked as Principal Harp with groups that include the London Mozart Players, The City of London Sinfonia and the London Philharmonic.

Making many recordings of composers such as Ravel, Debussy and Alwyn, she also worked with the King’s College, Cambridge, choristers on choral works for harp.

In the movies she appeared as a musician in the 1999 Simon Magus.

Aside from performing she is a respected teacher and has been a Professor at the Royal College of Music and judged at competitions that include the BBC Young Musician of the Year.
