Mulet, Teddy

He is a classically trained multi-instrumentalist, arranger, producer and songwriter born Hernan Mulet in Puerto Rico who first studied medicine at college and then moved into music after he had been performing with various college bands to pay his tuition fees.

He decided to go to music school and was later hired by Emilio Estefan to play with the Miami Sound Machine who back the singer Gloria Estefan. He has also worked with Blood, Sweat & Tears, Jimmy Buffett, Alejandro Fernandez, for whom he wrote a Grammy nominated song, Ricky Martin, the San Juan Pops and Shakira and worked as a musician and music copyist on the 2003 movie Chasing Papi.  He has also composed music for Frank Loconto’s Singing Rosary.

Albums he has appeared on include Banana Wind by Jimmy Buffett, Let it Loose by Gloria Estefan & The Miami Sound Machine, Cuts Both WaysHold Me Kiss Me Thrill MeMi Tierra and Turn the Beat Around by Gloria Estefan, Life by Ricky Martin, Caribe Gardel by Jerry Rivera, Amor by Jon Secada, Oral Fixation Vol. 2 by Shakira, Pavarotti & Friends: For Guatemala and Kosovo and the soundtrack of The Specialist.

Here he is playing the trumpet solo on Sammy Nestico’s “Flight to Nassau” performed by the Dick Cully Big Band…
