Nieman, Jodi

lto singer who attended the University of Ottawa from whence she earned degrees in law, piano, and voice.

After graduating, she went to work for Osler, Hoskin and Harcourt, specializing in the laws that govern intellectual property. Concomitantly, she sang with Tafelmusik, a Toronto-based choir and orchestra that performs musical masterpieces from the Baroque era.

In 1995, she relocated to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and joined Voces Novae et Antiquae. They celebrated their tenth anniversary in part with a program entitled “The Unknown Handel and Haydn” at Samuel Fleisher Art Memorial on 18^th March 2002. On 13^th January 2008, they returned to the same venue in a performance of Elizabeth Alexander’s “For So the Children Come”, based on the poem of the same name by Sophia Lyon Fahs. She has also performed as a member of Choral Arts Philadelphia.

Jodi has also been active in the First Presbyterian Church in Haddonfield, New Jersey, wearing a variety of hats, such as accompanist at their 2009 talent show, accompanist of the Sherrerd and Chapel choirs, member of the Stewardship Committee, and youth choir accompanist. Naturally, she also lends her alto tones to the church choir.

She has been a frequent guest artist at the perennial faculty recital for the Department of Music at Susquehanna University in Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania.
