Petersen, Anna Marie Ahn

She is a violist who debuted in a solo recital in 1988 at a venue in Seoul, Korea.

She studied at the Curtis Institute of Music and after graduating became a member of The Philadelphia Orchestra in 1992 where she is a Principal Viola in the Piasecki Family Chair.

During her career she has performed with orchestras and ensembles that include as Principal Viola with the Brandenburg Ensemble and the Jupiter Symphony and as a soloist with the the Orquestra Filamonica de Bogota and the Seoul Philharmonic.  Other ensembles she has performed with include The Mondrian Ensemble and the Philadelphia Orchestra Musician’s String Trio.

She has been a guest musician at several chamber music festivals inclding the Casals Festival, Kingston Music Festival, Saratogat Chamber Music Festival, the Ravinia Festival and the Seoul Arts Festival.

Recordings she has played on include Peter Tchaikovsky: Symphony No 6 “Pathetique”/Dumka by The Philadelphia Orchestra.
