Peterson, Ricky (19th March 1958-Present)

He is a singer-songwriter, producer, arranger and keyboard player born in Minnesota. His mother is a pianist and his other family members include the singers Patty and Linda Peterson, the bass guitarist Paul Peterson and the bass player Billy Peterson.

Since 1987 he has been associated with the saxophone player David Sanborn, he is currently his musical director, and he has also been a keyboard player, producer and arranger for Prince and arranged and co-produced his hit song “The Most Beautiful Girl in the World”.

As a writer and producer he is also known for his work on the George Benson album That’s Right.

He has toured extensively throughout his career and has also recorded with artists that include Anita Baker, Bonnie Raitt, Billy Joel, Ben Sidran, Jimmy Buffet, Fine Young Cannibals, Steve Miller Band (along with Billy Peterson), Jermaine Jackson, Bruce Willis and John Mayer to name but a few.  In his solo career he has released several albums with the first one being Night Watch in 1989.  He has also contributed songs to television shows.
