Potokar, Maros (1982?-Present)

Violinist, conductor, choirmaster and teacher whose mother has been the First Flute with the Slovak State Philharmonic, Kosice.  He has proclaimed himself a child prodigy and took his studies at the Kosice Conservatory in Slovakia.

Maros has been a violinist with the Slovak State Philharmonic, Kosice since his graduation and in the position of second concertmaster he is the youngest person holding that post in the country.

He performed as a soloist and concertmaster with the Visegrad Youth Orchestra on their tour of the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia and was a soloist with Musica Juvenal in 2005. Other ensembles he has performed with included the Trio Anime.

As a conductor he has led the Teachers’ Choir of Kosice (Slovakia) for performances that include at the Second European Teachers’ Choir Festival in 2009.
