Rovatkay, Adrian (1964-Present)

He is a bassoonist and dulcian player and composer born in Hanover, Germany whose father is the  conductor and harpsichordist Lajos Rovatkay  and mother is the recorder player and oboist  Siri Rovatkay-Sohns.

He studied bassoon in Hanover and from 1988 to 1996 attended the Braunshweig University of Art to study fine arts.

He specialises in historical instruments and is a co-founder of the Chelycus Ensemble, with whom he performs at international music festivals of early music.  He has also been a member of the bassoon dup Satyros which he con-founded in 1999.  He has performed with several early music ensembles that include the Barockorcheter L’Arco, Berliner Barock-Compagny, Cantus Coln, Gottingen Barockorchester, The Harp COnsort, Les Cornets Noirs, Musica Antiqua Koln, Musica Fiata and Wroclaw Baroque Ensemble.

As a composer he writes works for experimental stage production.
