Rojak, John D.

He is a bass trombonist and teacher who performs as a soloist and with many orchestras and ensembles.

He studied at Juilliard and received fellowships from Tanglewood and Waterloo Music Festivals with his teachers including John Coffey and Don Harwood.  He was an original member of the New York Pops and of the orchestra for Les Miserables on Broadway.

He has performed with orchestras and groups that include the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra, Solisi New York, the New York Chamber Symphony and the Orchestra of St. Luke’s and he has been a member of the American Brass Quintet since 1991.  He was the first resident bass trombonist at Quad City Arts and has also had residencies at the Aspen Music Festival and the Juilliard School, been on the faculties of Rutgers University and Bard College, and given masterclasses in Japan.
