Ross, Nathan

Violinist who was a member of the American Art Quartet and was active in the recording studios from the 1950s to the 1980s.

In the ‘50s, he laid down several tracks for Nat King Cole, including “Love is Here to Stay”, “Smile”, “Tenderly”, and “That’s All”.

He worked with the George Shearing Quintet and Billy May in December 1956 on “As Long as I Live/Let’s Live Again”, “The Folks Who Live on the Hill”, “One Morning in May” and “You Don’t Know What Love Is”, which appeared on the album, Black Satin.

On 8th May 1972, he did some overdubs for Elvis Presley on “Always on My Mind”, “Fool”, “For the Good Times”, “I’ll Take You Home Again, Kathleen”, “It’s a Matter of Time”, “Separate Ways”, and “Where Do I Go From Here”.
