She is a flautist and teacher who received her musical degrees from Queens College and Yale.
She is active in the New York area and is a founding member of Hexagon and the Sherman Chamber Ensemble and the Rodeph Sholom Chamber Music Series.
In 1981 she debuted in New York after winning the Concert Artist Guild Award and this led to her performing with countless ensembles and orchestras on a national and international level during the course of her career to date.
In 1988 she won the Young Concert Artists International Competition which led her to becoming a co-founder of the chamber ensemble Hexagon.
In 2002 she and her cellist husband, Eliot Bailen, were presented with an Arts Award for Positive Thinking by the Blanton-Peale Institute.
She has performed at the Cape May, Carmoor, Grand Teton, Marlboro, Mostly Mozart and Salt Bay summer music festivals.
He career as an orchestral musician and seen her hold the position of Principal Flute and/or soloist with the American Ballet Theater, Brandenburg Ensemble, Greenwich Chamber Players, Greenwich Symphony, the Jupiter Symphony, the Little Orchestra Society, the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, the New England Bach Festival, the New York Chamber Ensemble, the New York Choral Society, the New York Philharmonic Orchestra, the New York Pops, the New York String Orchestra, The Orchestra of St. Lukes, the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra, Solisti New York, Sebago Long Lake Chamber Music Festival, Speculum Musicae, Westmoreland Symphony and Wind Soloists of New York.
No stranger to the recording studio she has performed on recordings that include her own Bach Sonatas for Flute and Solo Pianoforte (with Kenneth Cooper) and Solo Partita as well as American Profile by the New York Chamber Ensemble, Grace by Kathleen Battle, Les Petites Nerveux by Hexagon and White Moon – Songs to Morpheus by the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra and Marlboro Fest 40th Anniversary.
In the field of musical education she has been a Music Associate on the faculty of Columbia University and has also taught at the Queens College: Aaron Copland School of Music, Hunter College and the Manhattan School of Music.
