Rovetti, Marc

He is a violinist born in Hartford, Connecticut who studied for his Bachelor and Master degrees at Juilliard School of Music and received an Advanced Certificate from New York University.

He was at the Tanglewood Center of Music for four summers as a fellow and as a member of the resident ensemble New Fromm Players.  He has also worked with composers of new music during International Contemporary Ensemble residencies.

As a soloist and orchestra member he has performed with the Atlanta Symphony, Lexington Philharmonic, New World Symphony, Rothko String Quartet, and Sacramento Philharmonic.  He has given many chamber performances as a chamber musician at several music festivals and with the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center and has been heard on radio with the International Contemporary Ensemble.  He has also toured with the Mark Morris Dance Group Ensemble.

He became a violinist with the Philadelphia Orchestra in 2007 and in 2009 became Assistant Concertmaster.

Recordings he has been heard on include Augusta Read Thomas by Music for strings – featuring Young Musicians.

In the field of musical education he has served as adjunct violin faculty at New York University while attending there and given masterclasses while at the Philadelphia Orchestra.
