Steinberg, Dr. Charles

He is a dentist, statistician, and public relations and marketing executive born in Baltimore, Maryland.

From the time he was a high school student he worked in the office of the Orioles baseball team as a statistician for the Hall of Fame manager and after studying at the dental school of the University of Maryland, where he received his doctorate, he joined the team as their dentist.

After spending 19 seasons with the Orioles he moved on to the San Diego Padres for a further seven seasons before joining the Boston Red Sox and being extremely active in their community and public relations. He was active in creating the Fenway Ambassadors Program and the Red Sox scholars program, setting up the customer services department, introducing the Father’s Day catch at Fenway Park and producing the first video for the club. He has also been as being active in the production of baseball videos for television about the Padres and the Orioles, which garnered him an Emmy and a Telly Award respectively.  Appearing in the movies he was seen in Fever Pitch, which featured the Red Sox winning the world series in 2004.

Aside from all of the above work he is also active on the music side, playing the organ and directing the orchestra at games, and has appeared in concert with Jimmy Buffett and his Coral Reefer Band at Fenway Park as his organist on “Take Me Out to the Ball Game”.

This has also seen him appearing on albums that include Live at Fenway Park by Jimmy Buffett, Tessie and Warrior’s Code by Dropkick Murphys and the compilation Music from the Mound.

He was taken on at the end of November 2007 as the Executive Vice President of Marketing and Public Relations for the Los Angeles Dodgers.
