Thompson, Alastair

He is a tenor who was with the King’s Singers from 1970 until 1978, which was their first change of singers in 8 years.

He moved on to study lieder in Stuttgart and then had a career as a solo artist.   After he married, he and his wife, who is a soprano, free-lanced for several years.

As well as appearing on many King’s Singers recordings he has appeared on the album Chorlieder, Duette, Terrette composed by Fanny Mendelssohn.

He became a teacher of Academical Clerks at Magdalene College, Oxford.
