Tompkins, Pam

Violinist with the Los Angeles Symphony Orchestra between 1974 and 1979 who went on to appear on a number of albums, including Don Ellis’s spacey Music from Other Galaxies and Planets and Live At Montreaux.  She also did double duty with Rocky Burnette on Heart Stopper and—well, Rocky Burnette.

Other recordings of note include Peter Davison’s Glide/Star Gazer, Earth, Wind & Fire’s Powerlight, Saint Tropez’s Belle de Jour, Frank Sinatra’s Trilogy, and this happy nugget of ‘70s nostalgia:  It Only Takes a Minute:  A Lifetime with Tavares.
