Turrell-Wright, Jean

Retired music teacher who has served as the choral director for the Capistrano Valley Church of Religious Science in San Juan Capistrano, California.

She received a Bachelor of Arts in Music at the University of California-Santa Barbara and went on to get her Masters in Education at Stanford.

Her career has been divided between singing and teaching.  Some of the groups she has sung with include The Jimmy Joyce Singers, The Orange County Women’s Chorus, The Pacific Chorale, The Ray Conniff Singers, The Robert DeCormier Singers, and The Roger Wagner Chorale.  She was also a member of The Miller Sisters on an episode of M*A*S*H.

Jean has taught in several school districts in California, including Irvine, Los Angeles, Palos Verdes, and San Gabriel, and has held leadership positions with The Coast Community Children’s Chorus and the aforementioned Pacific Chorale, leading their girls chorus and acting as Director of Education.
