Waite, Freddie “Junior” (23rd May 1967-Present)

He is a singer-songwriter and drummer born in Birmingham, England who was the son of Frederick Waite, who was previously a member of The Techniques and his father formed the band Musical Youth in 1979.

He and his brother Patrick, as well as Michael Grant and Kelvin Grant formed the group with Frederick Waite, initially singing lead vocals, to be replaced by Dennis Seaton.

They saw success when “Pass the Dutchie” became a No.1 hit and was successful worldwide.  The band split up in 1985 when Dennis Seaton left to pursue a solo career.  His brother, Patrick, died in 1993 from a hereditary heart condition and he has suffered from psychological problems.
