Yablonsky, Dmitri (1962-Present)

He is an orchestral conductor and cellist born in Moscow, Russia, to a musical family.  His father is an oboe soloist in the Moscow Radio and Television Orchestra and his mother, Oxana, is a professor at the Juilliard School and an acclaimed pianist.

He studied at the Moscow Central Music School from the age of six and when he was nine he gave his debut with Haydn’s Concerto in C Major for violincello.  His family emigrated to the United States in 1977 and he studied at the Juilliard School, Yale University and the Curtis Institute of Music.

He began his conducting career in 1990 and since then he has performed and conducted with several international orchestras in venues such as La Scala, Carnegie Hall, The Taiwan National Hall and the Concertgebuow, and ihas been the Principal Guest Conductor of the Moscow Philharmonic Orchestra and State Symphony Orchestra.
