Yarling, Nicole

She is a violinist, singer and teacher born in Brooklyn, New York, to a musical family where her father played jazz organ and piano.  She began playing violin with her father when she was around nine years old and went on to obtain degrees in music from the Burach College and Columbia University.

In 1980 she moved her base and has since been active in the music scene in South Florida for nearly thirty years.

As a touring artist she has accompanied Jimmy Buffett and his Coral Reefer Band on two of his tours in 1991 and 1994 and since then formed her own Little Nicky and the Slicks, who have performed at least 8 world tours.

Other artists she has worked with include Dr. John, Dizzy Gillespie, KC & The Sunshine Band and Albert Lee and after being “discovered” by the singer Joe Williams she worked with him on her 1998 album “Joe Williams Presents Nicole Yarling at the Manchester Guild” on what was to be the last recording before his death.

Other groups she has been a member of include The Weld, from South Florida, and Yellow Bell with who she has been a vocalist and musician since 1998.

Albums she has featured on aside from her own with Joe Williams include Svadharma wirh Richard Brooken & Yellow Bell, Fruitcakes by Jimmy Buffett and Enrique by Enrique Iglesias and Donde Estan Los Ladrones? by Shakira to name but a few.

In the field of musical education she gives vocal lessons and holds many masterclasses.
