Zeumer, Manfred (10th March 1940-Present)

He is a trombonist born in Allstedt, Germany who sudied at the music school in Sondhausen from 1954 to 1958.  He then took further studies and earned his diploma at the Franz Liszt School of Music from 1958 to 1961.

He debuted as a solo trombonist in 1961 and became a deputy solo trombone with the Dresden Philharmonic in 1963.  He then became their Principal solo trombonist from 1969 to 1979.

In 1979 he became to solo trombonist for the Saxon State Orchestra, Dresden and stayed with them until  his retirement in 2005.

He also performed with the Ludwig Guttler Brass Ensemble from 1979 to 1999.

In the field of musical education he began teaching at the Carl Maria von Weber University of Music in 1977 and was appointed honorary professor in 2005.
