Ahrens, Lynn (1st October 1948-Present)

She is a lyricist, mainly of musicals, born in New York, New York.

She works in collaboration with Stephen Flaherty and they are best known for their shows such as Ragtime, which won one Tony Award and a further twelve nominations, and Once on This Island which had eight Tony nominations.  Their other musicals include Anastasia, Lucky Stiff, A Christmas Carol and Seussical the Musical, Rocky the Musical and Little Dancer.

They have also worked on songs for the movies Anastasia and Bartok the Magnificent.  The newest work that they have collaborated on is the musical The Glorious Ones released in April 2007.

She was nominated for a 2004 Laurence Olivier Theatre Award for Best New Musical of 2003 with Ragtime performed at the Piccadilly Theatre.

She is a founder of the Dramatists Guild Fellows Program for Emerging Writers and a lifetime member of the Council of the Dramatists Guild of America.
