Millsap, Bob (10th July 1939-21st June 2002)

He was a guitarist, songwriter, composer, publisher, producer and DJ born Robert M. Millsap in Oklahoma.

He started as a guitarist and songwriter in the 1960s and also during that decade he worked at KWTO with the songwriter and later music executive “Si” Siman.  As a guitarist he has appeared in recordings by Billy “Crash” Craddock, Jo-El Sonnier and Don Drumm among many others.

His songs have been recorded by artists such as Pat Boone, Dorsey Burnette, Wanda Jackson, Olivia Newton John, George Jones Kenny Price and Billy Jo Spears and include “What Would It Profit Me” and “She’s a Rock”.

As a producer he worked on albums by artists that included Jimmy Alcorn, Roy Clark, Tommy Overstreet.

He was also a well-respected music publisher and his Ironside Studios I Branson, Missouri was responsible for hits such as Jo Dee Messina’s “Lesson in Leavin’” and Anne Murray’s “You Needed Me” which won a Song of the Century award.
