Siegel, Jay (20th October 1939-Present)

He is a singer-songwriter born in Brooklyn, New York, who was asked by Neil Sedaka to become a member of the Linc-Tones, which was the previous name of The Tokens, when they were at Abraham Lincoln High School in Brighton Beach.

He was the original lead singer of the band The Tokens with, at one point, the band being called Jay Siegel & The Tokens.  Along with the other members of the group he went into production and they were behind hits by groups such as The Chiffons, The Happenings and Tony Orlando and Dawn.

The band Dawn was named after his daughter.  He also sang back-up, along with The Tokens, for hits like “Knock Three Times” for Dawn and also for artists such as Melissa Manchester and Bob Dylan.
