This modern instrument ensemble was formed in 1970 by the cellist Adrian Shepherd and originally set up to develop specific styles and sounds of playing in a relaxed atmosphere.
The ensemble recorded 16 albums from 1975 to 1992 and each year Adrian Shepherd directed the Cantilena festival on Islay.
Adrian passed away in 2013 and all the previous performers with the ensemble went on to achieve distinction in the international world of music.
