Capella Istropolitana

This small orchestra was formed by members of the Slovak Philharmonic Orchestra in 1983.  The name was taken from the Accademia Istropolitana and their home is in Bratislava, Slovakia.

It tours Europe regularly and has made numerous recordings by composers that include Bach, Mozart, Vivaldi, Haydn. Telemann and Handel.  They’re conductor since 1992 has been Christian Brembeck.

Appearing on film they have performed in the movies The Shaggy Dog, The Ladykillers and Heartbreakers.

In 1991 they were named “The Chamber Orchestra of the City of Bratislava” by Bratislava City Council.
