This orchestra was founded in 1988 by the conductor and flautist Michael Schneider and is one of the most successful European ensembles that perform baroque, opera, symphonic works and oratorios. They often play works by lesser known composers in their own authentic interpretation.
They are regularly invited to perform in European festivals and concerts and are supported by the Ministry of Culture and Science of Hessen.
They have made several recordings which include a series of CDs of Telemann wind concertos made of several years.
