Les Petits Chanteurs de Saint Laurent

In 1944 this children’s choir was brought together by Abbot Zurfluh as a subsidiary of the Des Petits Chanteurs a la Croix de Bois (The Small Singers of Wood Cross) and attached to one of the oldest churches in Paris.

The children who sing must be over 7 years old but are not required to have a knowledge of music, and are brought together so that they can experience the music and liturgy as well as working in a group.  Throughout the years they have been heard singing religious works and compositions by composers such as Mozart, Bach, Charpentier, Lully, Faure and Schubert.

Giving 10 concerts in Paris each year, and regularly performing Sunday Masses in their own church, they also appeared several times throughout France and abroad during the summer months.

They have appeared on several recordings including their own Recital…, Dix Motets de la Renaissance, Joyeux Noel and Le Plus Beaux Noels by Maurice Andre and they have also been heard on the soundtrack of the 1999 Venus Beaute (institut).
