New York Pops

The orchestra, which is the largest independent symphonic pops orchestra in the Unites States, was founded by Skitch Henderson in 1983.  It specializes in American music and is a non-profit organisation which performs and annual subscription series.

It has become internationally renowned with tours, television performances and touring and has its own education programs with its Kids in the Balcony providing for children to attend the Carnegie Hall concerts and Salute to Music providing free instrumental lessons to junior high school students in New York.

It has made several recordings including Swinging With Strings, The New York Pops Goes to the Movies, Legends and Christmas in the Country.
