Valparaiso University Chorale

This 48 member Chorale is resident at Valparaiso University, Indiana, and has made its name as being one of the top Lutheran collegiate choral ensembles that delivers performances of works from all eras of musical history to a consistently high standard.  They are also known for singing multicultural and contemporary works in the language in which they were written.

Maintaining a close relationship with Leipzig’s St. Thomas Church, which has a close association with J. S. Bach, the choir will serve its fourth residency there in 2012 when the church celebrates its 800th anniversary.

The chorale is led by the tenor Dr. Christopher Cock who directs them through their busy concert and touring schedules as well as their activities in the recording studio.  He is also a director of the Bach Institute at the university and has given several masterclasses.

In 2011 they embarked on a Spring tour which comprised performances in Florida, North Carolina, Virginia and Washington D.C.

They have made several recordings since 1998 which include Amazing Day, As It is In Heaven, Christ Child: Songs of the Nativity, In Paradisum, The Lutheran Chorale with Paul Manz, O My Soul, Star Still Guiding and Traditions: Hymns, Motets and Folk Songs.
