Ballad of Big

(Tony Banks/Phil Collins/Mike Rutherford)

This is a Wild West themed song about the story of Big Jim Cooley.  It is the B-Side of the Genesis chart hit “Follow You, Follow Me” and is taken from their And Then There were Three album.

Phil Collins was the lyrist and Mike Rutherford created the guitar effect on the introduction by rubbing pieces of metal over the guitar strings.  Tony Banks duelled between a guitar synthesiser and an electric piano at the end of the song.
