Blue and Broken Hearted Me

(Buddy Cannon/Raleigh Squires)

This song was written in the early 1980s and recorded by The Burrito Brothers for inclusion on their 1983 album release which was either going to be entitled A Taste of the Country or Our Roots Are Country Music.

It was the first song released from the album with “Our Roots Are Country Music” on the B-Side.    The group performed it on the TV show Hee Haw and it saw some success when it rose to No. 48 on the country chart.  Unfortunately more than 25 years later, the album has never been released even though a further single from it, “Cheatin’ Kind of Love” was also issued.

“Blue and Broken Hearted Me” was later released as a track on The Best of Burrito Brothers.
