Changes in Latitudes, Changes in Attitudes

(Jimmy Buffett)

This song was written by Jimmy Buffett in 1977 and appears on the album of the same name.  It was released as a single in the August of that year, but had to have the words “sons of bitches” changed.  They ended up as “bruises and stitches” instead.

The song appeared on several US charts at No. 11 in the Adult Contemporary chart, No. 24 in the Country chart and No. 37 on the Hot 100.

It remains one of Jimmy Buffett’s most popular songs, being performed by him at nearly 600 concerts, and has since been featured on his video release, Live by the Bay, and 17 of his subsequent albums that include You Had To Be There, Songs You Know By Heart, Meet Me in Margritaville and Boats, Beaches, Bars & Ballads.
