This piece was composed for four clarinets at Woodbury, Connecticut, in 1962. Described as being in the “spirit of Bugler’s Holiday” and a “brilliant showcase”, it has been performed by many clarinet soloists with one of the most recent recordings being by the British clarinettist, Emma Johnson on her Voyage CD, which reached No. 3 in the UK classical chart.
