Everywhere, Everywhere Christmas Tonight

(Phillips Brooks/Lewis Henry Redner)

This Christmas carol had the text written by the clergyman and author Phillips Brooks and the music written by the musician Lewis Henry Redner.  They are best known for their collaboration on the popular Christmas carol “O Little Town of Bethlehem” which is sung regularly during the holiday season in America and throughout the rest of the world.

The carol was published posthumously in Phillip Brooks’ Christmas Songs and Easter Carols in 1903.

Although not as widely known as “O Little Town of Bethlehem” it is still performed by choirs and ensembles and has been recorded in a carols medley by the Robert DeCormier Singers and on various Christmas compilations.
