Fire Lake

(Bob Seger)

Song written and recorded by Bob Seger that was the first single released from 1980’s Against the Wind peaking at No. 6 on the Billboard Hot 100 and No. 8 in Canada.

Almost ten years in the making, “Fire Lake” was originally intended for inclusion on 1975’s Beautiful Loser, but failed to make the cut.  Seger started writing the song as early as 1971.  Glenn Frey, Don Henley and Timothy B. Schmidt of The Eagles supplied backing vocals.

A live version appears on 1981’s Nine Tonight.
