(David Courtney/Leo Sayer)
Song written by David Courtney and Leo Sayer in which Leo seems to channel Janis Joplin in this shrieky, ostensibly introspective rock elegy, bemoaning the protagonist’s bittersweet life-to-this-point with a battery of cliches. When he sings “I am a lonely, lonely man”, it is curiously reminiscent of Paul McCartney’s “Maybe I’m Amazed”. This side B to “Long Tall Glasses (I Can Dance)” was never a hit, although it inexplicably found its way onto The Show Must Go On: The Anthology and You Make Me Feel Like Dancing & Other Hits.
