Opus 2: 6 Sinfoniae and 6 Concerti a Cinque (Albinoni)

(Tomaso Giovanni Albinoni)

This was the second of the 10 opuses written by Tomaso Giovanni Albinoni which were composed in 1700, while he was employed as a violinist.  This set of instrumental works was dedicated to Fernando Carlo, Duke of Mantua.  The sonatas have stayed with the tradition of Corelli in that they are normally done in four movements moving from slow to fast and back again.
