This piece of music written in 1893 was the last composition Eugen d’Albert wrote in this form. It comprises four movements with a slow movement which opens with a cello solo and wind instrumentation which has been likened to Strauss, a scherzo which has been likened to Mendelssohn in its lightness, and a grand finale. The movements are:
