It was brought to fame by Harry Nilsson who had a No. 1 with it in America for 4 weeks in 1972 and has been further recorded by many artists including Mariah Carey who took it to No. 3 in the US and No.1 in the UK in 1994. The Susie Allanson version made it to No.79 in the Billboard country charts.
