Allen, Tom “Manfred” (19??-May 2016)

He was a drummer who had been performing with John Lee Hooker when he met up with Willy DeVille in San Francisco in 1974, and after they teamed up with the saxophonist Ruben Siguenza , they moved to New York.

Going initially by the name Billy DeSade & The Marquis, they soon became known as Mink DeVille, and would see success with singles such as “Spanish Stroll ” and “Cadillac Walk”.

In 2005 he attended the re-union of the Alameda All Stars with many other acclaimed musicians that had been involved with them over the last 25 years or so.
