Bikar, Josef

Violinist who studied at the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava and went on to the Hoschschule fur Musik in Vienna from 1997 to 1999.

In 1999 he became the deputy concertmaster with the Slovak State Philharmonic Orchestra, Kosice (CSSR) and the concertmaster with the Opera and Ballet State Orchestra in Kosice from 2001.   He has also performed as second violin with The Camerata Cassovia, and is the founder of the Chamber Orchestra Charron and first violin and artistic director of the Chaaron Quartet and recorded more than twenty CDs on the Naxos label.

He has been the director of the Pianissimo art agency and in the field of musical education has taught violin since 2001 at the Kosice Conservatory.
