Gassler, Chris

He is a trombonist and teacher who began learning the trombone when he was thirteen years old and studied at the University of North Texas, the University of New Mexico and the New England Conservatory of Music.

In his performing career he has been a member of various orchestras in New Mexico, Texas. Massachusetts and South Florida including the Palm Peach Opera Orchestra and the Santa Fe Symphony and also Tim Zimmerman & The King’s Brass .

He has appeared on several recordings including Largo Tah for marimba and bass trombone with Warren Benson.

In the world of musical education he has been a lecturer in music at the University of Texas-Pan American, an Assistant Professor of Music at Lynchburg College, Virginia, and Instructor of Low Brass at the Ouachita Baptist University in Arkadelphia, Arkansas.

After completing studies at the Center for Excellence in World Arts at the Graduate Institute of Applied Linguistics in Dallas, Texas, he and his wife, Lori, and their three children resettled in Yaounde, Cameroon in 2014, where they encourage Christian worship and learn local art forms.
