Zukin, Oleg

He is a violinist and teacher born in Odessa in what was previously the Soviet Union.  He took violin studies and musical education at the Moscow Conservatory and after he graduated he went on to perform with the Odessa Symphony during the 1980s, becoming their concertmaster.

He made the decision to leave Odessa and in 1989 emigrated to the United States.  He settled in New York taking on the position of associate concertmaster of the New York Tchaikovsky Chamber Orchestra and after a year or so he joined up with the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra as second violin in 1990.

Lending his talents to other ensembles he has been a member of the Aire Born Strings who recorded with Tim Ziimmerman & The King’s Brass and he has also been a recording musician for Music K-8.

In the field of musical education he has given private lessons in violin.
